FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: polymeric composition in film form comprises water insoluble polymer based on vinyl and diene monomers having vitrification temperature of lower than 55 C, in which at least 50 % particles have size of less than one micron, and water soluble component which is water soluble polymer capable of inhibiting water insoluble polymer particles from being adhered to each other, or mixture of water soluble polymer with compound having identical properties. Particles constitute 5-10 % by weight of water soluble polymer. Water insoluble polymer to water soluble component weight ratio is from 3-75 to 25-97. Water insoluble polymer is copolymer obtained from monomers of group consisting of ethylene, vinyl acetate, 1,3-butadiene and styrene, and water insoluble polymer is butadiene copolymer. Polymeric composition may be in the form of fried powder or dry film. Polymeric composition in the form of dry film is prepared by mixing above-mentioned components to form dispersion, and dispersion is then applied onto solid surface and dried. Stable aqueous film-forming dispersion is prepared of water-insoluble polymer to water soluble component weight ratio of from 20-60 to 40-80. Film forming polymeric composition is used as coating on paper, for which purpose composition in the form of dispersion is applied onto paper material at room temperature and thereafter dried in drier. EFFECT: improved properties of polymeric compositions. 64 cl, 16 dwg , 16 tbl
