SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of paper. Pre-impregnated decorative base paper for decorative coating materials contains biopolymer nanoparticles consisting of at least 50 % starch. It is obtained by impregnating a decorative base paper with an impregnating composition containing a petroleum-based polymer latex binder and biopolymer nanoparticles, the average size of which D50 is less than or equal to 1,000 nm.
EFFECT: proposed group of inventions allows reducing the amount of synthetic resin in the impregnating composition while maintaining the good printing properties of the decorative base paper.
