FIELD: production of aluminium-silicium alloys by melting. SUBSTANCE: slag of production of aluminium and its alloys or aluminium-containing compounds together with quartz sand are added into aluminium melt. The process is carried out at 750-780 C. Quantities of these components are so that weight ratio of quartz sand and additive in reaction mixture is maintained within 0.4-0.9, 0.65-0.73 being preferable. Then melt is allowed to stand within 20-40 min and treatment cycle is repeated once more. Strength thus obtained silumines is increased by 10-15 %, its plasticity is increased 2-2.3 times.
