FIELD: electrodynamics. SUBSTANCE: device is based on Michelson interferometer. One of arms of interferometer has vessel with liquid, for example with water in which another vessel designed to force this liquid out is installed. One of reflectors is made semitransparent and is placed in base of vessel containing liquid. Device is also provided with Mach-Zehender interferometer. One of its arms coincides with that of Michelson interferometer with vessels in front of which auxiliary light beam splitter forming the Mach-Zehender interferometer circuit is positioned. In process of exposition, liquid is forced out by vessel containing the air. This makes it possible to record simultaneously total number of waves in section being checked. Number of waves is determined by Michelson interferometer, i.e., when light spreads forward and backward, and it remains constant. Simultaneously number of waves is determined by Mach-Zehender interferometer, with light spreading only forward or backward, i.e., in direction of movement or opposite to it. Number of waves in Mach-Zehender interferometer changes in proportion to Doppler effect depending on speed and direction of motion of device positioned on the Earth. Speed and direction of the Earth motion are determined by comparison of number of waves recorded by two interferometers. EFFECT: higher measurement results. 2 cl, 1 dwg
