FIELD: electrodynamics. SUBSTANCE: beam of light from source in single-channel method registering nonlinear properties of photoeffect is attenuated to threshold level and is split by semitransparent mirror into two beams which are directed to photocathodes of two photoelectronic detectors. One of detectors, testing one, fixes threshold level and second detector, checking one, keeps linear dependence of output signal beyond limits of threshold level in testing photodetector and allows boundary of threshold level of photoeffect to be determined more accurately and quantitatively. For provision of such relation of intensity of light one of beams is additionally attenuated by expendable neutral absorber with known absorption factor and light is passed through diaphragm in front of cathodes of photoelectronic detectors to ensure same size of initial light spot on both photocathodes. Registration of output signals and provision for voltage supply are carried out with the aid of one two-channel or two individual devices with synchronous switching on.
