FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, beet and carrot harvesting. SUBSTANCE: root harvester has frame 1 carrying share 10, pulling unit 3 with wheels mounted on single shaft, top cutting blade, separating device, final top cutting knife positioned within separating device, guiding conveyor 26, root box 68, drive 33, top guiding fan 25 and sorting device. Two flexible rings of rectangular section are mounted on each wheel for axial movement. Rings may be biased at both sides by rollers over the whole surface up to top cutting blade. Each pulling wheel has casing. Top cutting blade is mounted on each casing. Guiding conveyor 26 is positioned in front of separating device for engagement with pulling unit 3. Nozzle of fan 25 is arranged between pulling device 3 and guiding conveyor 26. Guiding trough is mounted below rear part of guiding conveyor 26. Sorting device is made three-tier. Each of two upper tiers of sorting device has two belts movable at different speeds. Space between belts is at least equal to size of standard fruit. Boxes 68 are positioned behind sorting device. Drive 33 has power shaft connected through reducer 34 and chain drives with wheels of pulling unit 3, guiding conveyor 26, separating device, knives and shaft of sorting device.
