FIELD: abrasive materials. SUBSTANCE: polishing tool consists of polishing powder (80-90 vol.%), synthetic diene rubber (5- 20 vol.%), and thermosetting resin (0.5-15 vol.%). Polishing powder is mixed with binder dissolved in organic solvent in closed-type heated mixer and simultaneously solvent is distilled off with predetermined rate, condensed in cooler, and collected in cooled vessel. Remaining mixture is briquetted in press mold and briquets are heat treated at elevated temperatures. Thus manufactured abrasive tool is applicable to polishing nonmetal materials.
