FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: this relates to producing color inscriptions, information and indications signs, pictures and other images. According to method, paint is applied to receiving surface in electrostatic field. With the help of ejection and electrostatic field created by opposite-charge receiving surface with painting layer and electrode, paint is removed from that area of receiving surface which corresponds to projection of stencil to aforesaid surface with subsequent thermal treatment. Device for realization of this method has electrode, stencil, compressor, ejector, and paint collecting vessel. Stencil and electrode are hollow, and one of ejector inlets is connected with stencil space through hollow electrode, and other inlet is connected with compressor. Ejector outlet is connected with paint collecting vessel. EFFECT: high efficiency. 3 cl, 1 dwg
