FIELD: biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: method involves the batch culturing microorganisms under aeration and stirring on nutrient medium containing mineral sources of nitrogen, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, potassium, iron and two sources of carbon: ethanol and sucrose taken at ratio = (1: 1)-(0.3: 0.7). Sucrose (5-25% of total amount) is added to the parent nutrient medium. After 5 days the yield of citric acid is 98% of substrates added. EFFECT: increased yield of citric acid, decreased net cost of product. 2 tbl
