FIELD: methods for production of metals and alloys in the form of compact ingots, powders and sponge. SUBSTANCE: method includes metallothermic reacting under conditions of burning with reducing metal and compounds of reduced metals placed in crucible transparent for electromagnetic field; heating and initiation of reaction with the help of induced currents directly through crucible; cooling and crystallization of reaction products. Placement is effected by loading the reducing metal in form of monolithic block with hollows filled with compounds to be reduced. Frequency range of induced currents is 50-6700 Hz. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl
