FIELD: medicine, laboratory-scale diagnostics. SUBSTANCE: patient's saliva sample or blood serum sample are irradiated for 2 min. at wavelength 640 nm, followed by measuring absorption spectrum within spectral region 650- 750 nm. If absorption bands at wavelengths 666 and/or 710, 730 nm are detected in absorption spectrum, malignant tumor case is diagnosed. EFFECT: malignant neoplasms of different localizations can be detected at early stages of oncologic process. 1 tbl
