FIELD: electrolysis processes. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrolysis treatment of liquids and may find use in treating water with silver ions. Ionator has hermetic casing enclosing power source in the form of electric battery, electric circuit, and electrodes. Ionator is an all- submersible autonomous device in which one of electrodes, namely anode, is of silver and the other, cathode, of any metal compatible with provisions. Ionator is provided with signal giving information on state of its operability and/or controlling operation time, power source charge, and anode silver mass consumption. Capacity of autonomous power source is brought in agreement with consumable mass of silver anode. In another embodiment of invention, ionator has protective cup giving information on state of operability of device and made in the form of on-off alarm with system light on its outside end surface. Alarm is connected with contacts disposed in its internal cavity. Contacts interact with ionator electrodes in position of signaling of ionator operability state. Cup-alarm has a key in the form of protrusion on its outside surface. In position of signaling of ionator operability state and in position of protecting ionator electrodes from damage, the key interacts with reply longitudinal, parallel to each other grooves made on casing of ionator in protective shell embracing electrodes.
