FIELD: mechanical engineering; manufacture of compressors and engines. SUBSTANCE: piston machine consists of cylinder with two pistons arranged in it and gear mechanism including shafts with parallel axes lying in plane perpendicular to axis of cylinder and terminating in engageable gears secured on these shafts. Two end shafts are cranked; they are located on either side of cylinder. Center shafts whose number is even are straight. Pistons are connected with cranks of crankshafts by means of T-shaped rod or cross-member and straight rod or two connecting rods of varying length. Cranks are located near each other and are turned relative to each other at angle of 180 deg. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 4 cl, 2 dwg
