FIELD: heating of metal before rolling and heat treatment of products; applicable in metallurgy and mechanical engineering, particular, in walking-beam furnaces. SUBSTANCE: the gate of the offered device is made in form of immovable metal box tightly fitting the furnace lower part and having dry (with no water) seals only in places of passage of frame members through this box. Scale is removed from the furnace through hopper mounted in box under bottom slots. EFFECT: higher economic effect due to simplified design, removal of water from gates, higher reliability (service life) and maintainability of device. 3 cl, 3 dwg
