FIELD: optical engineering. SUBSTANCE: gas sample taken from reservoir is mixed with vapors of indicating liquid and cooled down to selected temperature. Obtained mixture expands, when flowing to monitoring zone through nozzle, which brings about its supercooling, supersaturation and growth of drops of indicating liquid condensate on particles. To obtain effect of growth of drops on particles from 0.001 to 0.01 mcm in size, vapor-and-gas mixture should be subjected to additional saturation by abrupt change of volume in zone of vapor-and-gas mixture thermal cooling or in jet flowing through nozzle. EFFECT: more accurate determination of quantity of particles in gas. 1 dwg
