SUBSTANCE: method determining thermophysical characteristics of materials lies in action with thermal pulses of constant power and repetition rate on surface of tested object. Rate of change of temperature at moment of feed of paired (n-I)-th, n-th and (2n-I)-th, 2n-th pulses is recorded at point located at fixed distance from line of thermal action. Sought-for characteristics are calculated by it. Device for implementation of method has programmable microcalculator 12, permanent storage 11, on-line storage 6, multiplexer 8, unit 7 of time intervals, pulse feed unit 5, measurement probe 1, D.C. amplifier 2, analog-pulse converter 3, synchronization unit 9, address counter 10 and pulse counter 4.
