SUBSTANCE: during starting period when field winding is connected to field suppressor and stator winding, to primary power circuit, magnitude, frequency, and phase of primary supply voltage, rotor electromotive force, and field current are checked until machine rotor gains subsynchronous speed; mentioned current is adjusted in phase, magnitude, and polarity once every half-cycle of relative emf frequency following IAR = S x IR x WT/WN law within time period when axes of stator and rotor magnetic fluxes are in quasi-synchronous relative position within load angle depending on moment of coincidence of controlled variable, where IAR is rotor current being measured; S is synchronous machine load angle sine; IR is rated current of rotor field winding; WT is current rotor speed; WN is primary power circuit frequency.
