FIELD: controlling electric drives of drilling rigs. SUBSTANCE: device has bit load setting element, current sensor, and speed sensor; in addition, it is provided with microprocessor set functioning to control axial thrust on bit motor speed and current; inputs of this set are connected to bit thrust setting element, current sensor, and speed sensor whose output is connected to motor feeding converter; microprocessor set is made for implementing bit axial thrust control algorithm in bit feed adjuster, motor static current measurement algorithm, and control action computing algorithm using bit axial thrust control routine. For additional control of bit axial thrust, device may be provided with weight sensor coupled with microprocessor set input. EFFECT: improved reliability. 2 cl, 4 dwg
