FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the drilling of oil and gas wells using hydraulic downhole motors, and in particular to the methods of controlling the axial load on the bit and the mode of operation of hydraulic downhole motors. Invention includes measurements of the weight of the drill pipe string above the bottomhole and with the load on the bit, maintaining the specified difference of the measured values, the adjustment of the axial load on the bit by measuring the pressure in the manifold during operation of the hydraulic downhole motor and comparing the pressure with the set value from the bench characteristic (or according to the datasheet data). At the same time, the required pressure drop on the hydraulic downhole motor is determined from its bench characteristic (or according to the datasheet values), which is incorporated in the control system, depending on the value of the regulated output parameter of the hydraulic downhole motor – power, torque or speed. Sum of the differential pressure in the operating mode (depending on the value of the selected output parameter) and the differential pressure on the hydraulic downhole motor at idle is determined as setting of pressure in the manifold. Pressure setpoint in the manifold is compared with the actual pressure, and their difference is the signal for correcting the axial load on the bit.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the efficiency of drilling by promptly adjusting the axial load on the bit and changing the operating modes of downhole hydraulic motors using their output parameters – power, torque, speed.
