BRONCHOLYTIC AGENT AND A METHOD OF ITS PREPARING Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: broncholytic agent is a tablet containing theophylline at amount 60-80 wt.-% that is made of interpolymeric complex of polymethacrylic acid and polyethylene glycol at amount 20-40 wt. -% and calcium stearate at amount 0.05-1.0 wt.-%. Method of preparing broncholytic agent involves addition of water and interpolymeric complex to theophylline, stirring and granulation using water as wetting agent that is fed at the rate 20-50 ml/min at inlet air temperature 50-60 C, chamber temperature - 40-50 C. The prepared granules were dried and granulated repeatedly. Dry granulate is powdered with calcium stearate and tabletted. Broncholytic agent is used at bronchial obstruction, asthma, chronic bronchitis, obstructive emphysema and other illnesses.
