FIELD: sizing of bulk materials. SUBSTANCE: gravity separator has housing 1 with feed hopper 2 at the top and discharge pipe 3 at the bottom the latter being intended for removal large fractions. Placed inside housing 1 is separating cone 4 with its vertex facing feed hopper 2. Separating cone 4 consists of successively alternating tapered surfaces 5 and speed-up sections 7 thus making up a common cone. Vertexes of tapered separating surfaces 5 are directed upwards. Speed-up sections are designed for increasing initial velocity of particles coming to next separating surface 5 without clogging. Separating surfaces 5 consist of wedge-shaped channels with wide end turned in the direction of movement of the material being processed. The inner space of separating cone 4 serves as common collector of the pass-through particles and is communicated with pipe 8 intended for discharging small fraction.
