FIELD: metal waste disposal. SUBSTANCE: steel swarf or steel-containing breaking-in sludge is mixed with detergent solution and submitted to magnetic separation. Detergent solution and abrasive are separated and returned into the beginning of process. Magnetic concentrate is loaded into straight-flow furnace with rotatory drum and, immediately after drying, magnetic sludge is briquetted on press and conveyed into remelt process. Gases and other volatile substances released on drying are caught and settled in rotoclon, whose working medium possesses adsorbing properties with regard to products carried out of the furnace, for example, lime milk, whereas purification and regeneration of rotoclon liquid medium is performed by means of flotator.
