FIELD: mechanical engineering; road vehicles. SUBSTANCE: air engine housing, covers with working medium inlet and outlet channels, diaphragm with support disk coupled with rod and rack-and-pinion transmission. The latter includes bushing with flat on outer surface enclosing the rod and toothed cover plate installed on this surface and engaging with gear. Bushing and rod are installed for movement relative to each other and to housing. Engine has additional diaphragm installed opposite to main diaphragm. Bushing and toothed cover plate are connected through detachable joint, and support disks and bushings are installed for forming clearance in between in each extreme position of rod.
