FIELD: construction industry, in particular, determination of constructional properties of ground by sounding. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has bars interconnected by couplings, conical tip and device for inserting and extracting sounding apparatus, guiding and measuring devices. Diameter of tip base is selected in accordance with base area, maximum resistivity of semi-solid consistency clay ground and value of applied force (average weight of individual). Diameters of couplings and bars and length of bar portion between couplings are related by predetermined ratio. Couplings are covered with antifriction covering. Sounding apparatus inserting and extraction device has horizontal rod with threaded opening in its mid portion adapted for receiving piston stem. Piston has flat portion positioned at location adjacent to rod attachment place. Attachment is provided by bolt passed through threaded opening. Sounding apparatus bars have flat portions positioned adjacent to couplings. Guiding device has supporting plate with axial through opening and movable pipe received in through opening.
