FIELD: oil and gas production. SUBSTANCE: invention deals with oil field with high percentage of idling wells. Necessity of placing wells in service is determined from maps of current oil saturation using preliminarily found coefficient of threshold oil saturation. Procedures to revive wells include reproducing history of developing given deposit, determining initial formation pressure and threshold oil saturation in productive zones where phase oil and water permeabilities are equal, and selecting object for zone development with coefficient of oil saturation higher as compared to coefficient of threshold oil saturation. Thereafter, current formation pressure is determined in selected zones. If current formation pressure exceeds initial one, geological process works are effected both in productive and injection wells. EFFECT: facilitated oil field post-development. 4 dwg
