FIELD: oil and gas production. SUBSTANCE: special attention is given to suppressing sulfate-reducing and heterotroph bacteria in oil production, transportation, and storage systems as well as in flooded oil strata at secondary oil production. To enhance efficiency of suppressing microorganism growth in oil-field media and to extend spectrum of suppressed microflora, recommended composition is based on aminoparaffins containing 1-6 amino groups and prepared by chlorination of C10-C26-paraffins with boiling range 22 to 345 C (35-65 wt %) supplemented by aromatic or naphtene-isoparaffin hydrocarbon fractions containing at least 20% aromatic hydrocarbons and no n- paraffins (35-65 wt %). Composition is added to media contaminated by bacterial microflora in amount from 0.01 to 0.05 wt %. EFFECT: increased antibacterial efficiency. 2 tbl
