FIELD: physical methods of analysis employed in hydrooptics hydrobiology and biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: dependence of index F (θ) of attenuation (or scattering) of light on value of aperture angle θ of light flux detector for analyzed suspension is measured. Aperture angle θ with which share of light flux scattered in this aperture angle equals half of all scattered light is determined. Diameter of particles in suspension is found by formula d = 0.57λ/nθ, where λ is length of radiation wave; n is refractive index of dispersion medium of suspension.
