FIELD: spectrophotometry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spectrophotometry and relates to a device for determining spectral absorption of light by sea water. Device comprises a radiation source, a quartz cuvette filled with sea water of tubular shape with an illuminator lens at its inlet, a collector and a photodetector. Radiation source used is a multi-colour light-emitting diode. Cuvette is made in the form of a truncated cone expanding in the direction opposite to the radiation source, at the output there is an illuminator in the form of a negative lens and is placed inside a hollow mirror reflector separated by air, which is coaxial to it, in the form of a truncated cone expanding in the same direction as the cuvette with an inner mirror surface, the input of which is an illuminator of the cuvette, and the output is a collector with a photodetector.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining spectral absorption of light by sea water.
