FIELD: photographic industry. SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to be used when manufacturing infrachromatic photographic emulsions. Proposed method is of the "nucleous-shell" type and includes addition of (i) pyrocatechol in quantity (1.5-2.0) x 10-3 mol per 1 mol of silver halide; (ii) phenyl-di(p-anisyl)phosphine; (iii) sensitizing dye thia(selenium)hexacarbocyanine with general formula where A' is hydrogen or lower alkyl; A is -CH2C(CH3)2CH2-; Y is S or Se; R lower alkyl, 2-hydroxyethyl, or 2-carboxyethyl; B hydrogen, chlorine, 6,7-tetramethylene, or benzo group; X = I, Br, Cl, or tozylate in quantity (2-6) x 10-6 mol per 1 mol of silver halide; and (iv) supersensitizer 2,5-di-tert-butylhydroquinone. Method allows manufacturing photographic materials sensitive in 750-1300 nm region with sensitizing maximum at 1170 nm. EFFECT: increased sensibility. 1 tbl
