FIELD: electromechanical engineering; electrified transport and instruments. SUBSTANCE: barrel accommodates stators of three axially arranged induction motors. Hollow shaft is mounted in bearings placed in end plates. Three rotor rings embrace it in a spaced relation; rotors are made of nonretentive material (grade 10 or ST 3 steel). Windings of two extreme stators are connected in phase opposition to central winding. With current applied to windings, traveling magnetic fields force rotor rings into wave-friction run over shaft. Rod-type locks prevent their setting in rotary motion. Degree of this wave-friction transmission step-down depends on clearance between shaft and ring. The smaller the clearance the greater the step-down degree. EFFECT: improved design. 4 cl, 2 dwg
