FIELD: disposal of hazardous materials. SUBSTANCE: in order to produce useful products originated from lewisite, the latter is treated with sodium hydroxide followed by successively adding sulfuric acid and sodium sulfite solutions, after which arsenic sulfide is precipitated within the pH range 1 to 4 at 15-50 C under stirring for 10-60 min. Precipitate is filtered, washed out, and dried. EFFECT: improved safety of procedure. 1 tbl
