FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing the sewage sediment with a sulfuric acid solution, concentration 0.52-0.86 mole/cu dm at 40-70 C for 10-20 min. The resulting mixture is filtered on a drum-type vacuum filter. The residual acidity of the sediment is neutralized with alkaline agents. EFFECT: higher quality of fertilizer obtained by extraction of heavy metals from sewage sediment, and prevention of pollution of ambient medium. 1 tbl
