PROCESS MEASURING POTENTIAL OF INDUCED POLARIZATION USED IN GEOELECTRIC PROSPECTING AND GEAR FOR ITS REALIZATION Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

Abstract RU 2099752 C1

FIELD: search and prospecting for sulfide ores and graphite. SUBSTANCE: process measuring potential of induced polarization consists in passing of single current pulses of 2.0-30.0 sec duration in circuit of feeding electrodes through geological medium, through borehole or over day surface. Potential of induced polarization is measured after discontinuation of their action by periodic interruption of process of recording by microsecond intervals. As result obtained periodic pulses of voltage are fed to input of multichannel amplitude pulse analyzer. Its spectrograms are used to evaluate value of induced potential within preset time that is determined by sum of recorded pulses in channels from moment of switching on of amplitude pulse analyzer to moment of finding of channel corresponding to value of potential of induced polarization multiplied by value of period of interruption of measurement. EFFECT: enhanced measurement sensitivity, possibility of usage of computers for processing, interpretation and analysis of measurement results. 2 cl, 4 dwg
