FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method is intended to be used when prospecting and mining gold sulfide ores. Preliminarily, basing on x- ray radiometric measurements, an ore zone is selected and oxidation degree is qualitatively estimated from electric field intensity created by the ore being analyzed and measuring electrodes with different standard electrode potentials. Ore is affected by two current-stabilized pulses with a fixed time interval. After each pulse action is completed, rate of decay of induced polarization is measured within two value ranges corresponding to gradation for given field, and oxidation coefficient is determined from difference of the two rates.
