FIELD: air-operated automatics. SUBSTANCE: method consists in ignition of tested volume of examined steam-gas-air mixture enriched with proper volume of combustible gas in explosion chamber and in detection of explosion in chamber when one of parameters of steam-gas-air mixture reaches tested value. Hydrogen is used in the capacity of combustible gas. Enrichment of examined mixture by hydrogen is carried out in proportion to upper value of lower concentration limit of propagation of flame. Spark is formed in section arranged at 0.1 to 0.9 height of explosion chamber. EFFECT: enrichment of mixture in proportion to upper value of lower concentration limit of propagation of flame facilitates considerably inflammability of mixture which increases accuracy of method.
