FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed linear amplifier has input divider, phase inverter, phase splitter, first amplifier, output adder, second amplifier connected in series. Second amplifier is identical to first one and is placed between second output of phase splitter and second input of output adder. Limiter is connected between second output of input divider and second input of phase splitter. First and second amplifiers are identical nonlinear amplifiers. Input signal passes through input divider, phase inverter, limiter having amplitude characteristic described by relation , where Ph is power of harmonic of basic frequency of signal across output of limiter, Pq2 is power of harmonic of basic frequency of signal across output of divider, Phmax is maximal value of power Ph, P2qmax is maximal value of power Pq2, Pq20 is value of power Pq2 at which Ph equals Phmax, K3 is coefficient of form of amplitude characteristic and phase splitter and is converted as result into two signals with constant and equal amplitudes which are fed to inputs of first and second amplifiers, are amplified by them under high-efficiency mode and are so summed in output adder that output signal reconstructs input signal in amplified form without any distortions.
