FIELD: television engineering; equipment of TV centers, high-quality SECAM-plus TV sets, and the like. SUBSTANCE: full color signal is formed on transmitting end so that it has three noncrossing spectra: low- frequency part of brightness signal spectrum, chrominance signal spectrum, and high-frequency part of brightness signal spectrum. The latter component is produced by shifting spectrum portion located in chrominance signal frequency band upward in frequency. Receiver provides for reverse conversion. This ensures extended continuous spectrum of chrominance signal. EFFECT: improved picture sharpness; reduced brightness-chrominance cross distortions. 3 cl, 6 dwg
