APPARATUS FOR MAKING RINGS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: plastic metal working, namely apparatuses for making rings by bending. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes mechanisms for feeding, cutting off and knocking out blanks and also unit for shaping rings. Unit includes body 1, rigidly connected with it cutting-off die, sleeve, 2, adaptor 3, mandrel 4 placed in sleeve 2 and pusher 5 mounted with possibility of reciprocation motion. Stepped mandrel 4 has base rigidly joined with sleeve 2 and cantilever with cylinder and cone portions coaxial with openings of sleeve 2 and adaptor 3 respectively. Cantilever of mandrel, cylindrical opening 6 of sleeve 2 and cone opening 7 of adaptor 3 form duct for placing blanks. Inlet portion of opening 6 for introducing wire is chamfered (8). Inlet portion of cone opening 7 for introducing ring blank is also chamfered (9). Chamfer 8 provides guaranteed guiding of wire to opening 6 for primary bending of it; chamfer 9 simplifies blank inlet to cone opening 7 of adaptor 3 at shifting openings relative to mandrel axis.
