FIELD: metal working industry; use of liquid oil derivatives as lubricants and coolants. SUBSTANCE: proposed method resides in subjecting spent oil to treatment with hydrochloric and sulfuric acids diluted to concentration 2-40 wt.-%, acid-to-oil volume ratio being from 1:1 to 1:15. Duration of oil-and-acids contact is from 5 to 30 min without heating. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 4 cl, 1 tbl
