FIELD: metalworking and mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method of purifying exhausted mineral oils involves filtration through adsorbent (silica gel or silica gel-sand mix) additionally containing 96-99% sulfuric acid at adsorbent-to-acid weight ratio 1:(0.25-0.5). Filtration is carried out at 100-200оС at a speed enabling residence time of oil in contact zone with adsorbent at least 1 h.
EFFECT: increased degree of purification and lowered oil viscosity.
