FIELD: mining industry; applicable in open-pit mineral mining. SUBSTANCE: cross-over to working is started to be formed from calculated elevation of existing cross- over on flank, and after preparing its area, pillar is worked of definite width, and bottom of half-trench is formed in pillar and in pillar transferred rocks, and formation of cross-over is completed by excavation of trench between half-trench and working bottom in flank. Analytical relationships for determination of elevation of adjoining the existing cross-over, length of area of formed cross-over and width of worked pillar. EFFECT: reduced volumes, terms and cost of stripping operations due to rational formation of cross-overs to working in flank. 3 dwg
