FIELD: manufacture of engines. SUBSTANCE: ratio of components of combustible mixture in hydrogen, hydrogen-free or hydrogen-diesel engine is regulated by admitting energy carrier into reaction chamber of gas generator and air into combustion chamber with speeds proportional to the speed of feeding hydrogen, gasoline or ignition portion of diesel fuel. Activating agent mixed preliminarily with water and disintegrated into jets is fed into reaction chamber. Generation of hydrogen is performed at specified temperature by acting of energy carrier onto water. Produced slag is removed from the reaction chamber and is subjected to electrochemical treatment. Additional hydrogen and oxygen are recovered and activator is regenerated. The latter is returned into gas generator for repeated use. Slag is removed into settler for users of wasteless technology. EFFECT: improved economical effectiveness and environmental characteristics, reduced mass and overall dimensions of engine and enhanced explosion safety. 7 cl, 11 dwg, 5 tbl
