FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of obtaining hydrogen from water for use in engines. According to proposed method, chlorine from metal chlorides is used as splitting catalytic energy carrier in method of operation of ecologically-safe internal combustion engine with simultaneous obtaining of hydrogen and oxygen from water. Valence of metals changes in process of closed thermochemical cycle with return of reagent in initial state at end of cycle, except water, whose amount is periodically replenished. Proposed of thermochemical transformations of ferric chloride is provided by recovered thermal energy of exhaust gases. Hydrogen is fed into gas reducer and further to hydrogen line and meter of engine carburetor. Oxygen is partially used to improved operation of engine and it passes through oxygen meter with oxygen line. Proposed ecologically-safe internal combustion engine contains supply system including main line to supply overheated water to cylinders through electromagnetic softener. Evaporator is arranged in space of exhaust manifold. Supply system includes also hydrogen generator whose rotor is provided with functional chambers, self-contained multispeed electric drive, hydrogen generator housing and acid container. Housing and acid container are fitted on common axle provided with channels to and from functional chambers, and channels from and to acid container. All channels are provided with safety valves.
EFFECT: no adverse effect on environment and improved economy without considerable modification of engine.
