FIELD: large electric motors for ships and other vehicles. SUBSTANCE: motor has annular stator with multiphase winding distributed over circumference, cylindrical rotor incorporating nonmagnetic shaft 3, ferromagnetic poles 4 arranged over circumference and made in the form of segments forming interpole slots 5 accommodating prismatic permanent magnets 6 saturated in tangential direction. Device fastening magnets 6 in slots 5 is made in the form of prismatic box 7 around magnet, its walls on butt ends, on end of shaft 3 and stator 1 being made of nonferromagnetic material and those abutting against poles 4, of ferromagnetic material. Box 7 is secured through split joints of ends of rotor 1 and box proper for its installation and drawing out of slot 5 in axial direction. Walls of box 7 may be used as damping turn or loop for saturating the magnet. EFFECT: revision for insertion of magnets in assembled motor without rebalancing the rotor, their in-service replacement in case of failure, effective use of composite magnets, effective mounting of sensors recording magnet characteristics and operating conditions, magnet saturation in assembled machine without using stator winding. 3 cl, 2 dwg
