FIELD: sorbents in hydrometallurgy. SUBSTANCE: sulfur-containing cracking residue is used as starting material to prepare polycondensate from furfural and crushed oil-containing exhausted zeolite originated from petroleum processing. Prepared polycondensate block is disintegrated, combined with wood tar at 70 C, carbonized at 800 ± 10 C in carbon dioxide flow, and finally activated at 800 ± 10 C in steam flow to 35-40% combustion loss. Sorbent can be used to concentrate gold. EFFECT: reduced cost. 1 tbl
