FIELD: scaly pigments. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to scaly pigments with the modified surface based on substrate scaly particles. Scaly particles of substrate pigment were covered with titanium dioxide layer and alkaline-earth metal titanate layer exhibiting perovskite structure is applied over substrate. A method of pigment producing involves precipitation of alkaline-earth metal titanate on titanium dioxide layer localized on substrate scaly particles. Alkaline-earth metal titanate is obtained by addition of titanium water-soluble salts to suspension of substrate particles. Process is carried out by precipitation at pH = 6-12 in the presence of water-soluble 1,2-diol or hydrogen peroxide. Titanium water-soluble salt is added slowly by drops, pigment particles were separated, washed, dried and calcined at 800 C, not below. EFFECT: improved method of producing. 2 cl
