WARP SMOOTHING METHOD AND APPARATUS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: textile industry, in particular, smoothing of gauze-type fabric warp. SUBSTANCE: method involves unwinding warp threads from bobbins; directing threads through turbulent flows of smoothing solution; squeezing by rolls; drying and winding onto weaver's beam. Apparatus has warp thread source, smoothing solution tank, roll and turbulizer which are positioned within tank. Turbulizer is formed as solid body having variable section and positioned below smoothing solution level adjacent to movable warp plane. Apparatus is further provided with squeezing shafts, drying and winding units. Main turbulent flows of smoothing solution are created adjacent to location where warp enters squeezing shafts, where turbulent flows are condensed in warp advancement direction and locally heated. Additional turbulent flow is formed and maintained in the vicinity of one squeezing shaft and is locally heated and condensed in the direction of location where squeezing shaft comes into contact with warp under treatment. Temperature in lower part of turbulent flows through which warp is directed and temperature in upper part of turbulent flow zone adjacent to squeezing shaft are maintained at smoothing solution boiling point level. Turbulizer is positioned between roll and squeezing shafts and has section configured so as to approach to warp motion plane, as distance to location, where warp is transferred onto squeezing shaft, is decreasing. Turbulizer has unions for supplying steam and discharging condensate from turbulizer interior. Turbulizer surface portion faced to squeezing shaft surface is configured so as to approach to squeezing shaft surface, as distance to location where warp is transferred onto squeezing shaft is decreased. Apparatus is further provided with unit for controlled supplying of steam into turbulizer interior. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and method. 6 cl, 3 dwg
