FIELD: underwater acoustic range finding systems of increased accuracy intended for operation in water basins with high dispersive distortions of acoustic signals. SUBSTANCE: process of distance measurement includes generation of acoustic signal synchronized with start of time count at point of reception, reception of signal by two acoustic receivers spaced apart in direction of propagation of wave by distance l and preliminary determination of invariant velocity Cinv and time intervals T2 and T1. Periodic pulse signal with period T is used as working signal. Tested object relays received signals. Coordinates xT,yT are periodically determined on testing object moving uniformly and rectilinearly with reference to tested object by two tacks crossing at angle α. Position of beam points xT,yT are found with use of satellite navigation system in step with emission of acoustic signal by assemblage of N measurements of coordinates (xn,yn). Then distance from beam points with coordinates xT,yT to tested object is determined. Device for implementation of process has signal generator, multiplier, synchronizer, modulator, power amplifier, acoustic projector and receiver, filter, computer, units setting invariant velocity and time intervals, satellite navigation system unit and indicator on testing object. First input of multiplier is connected to output of signal generator, first input of synchronizer is connected to input of modulator which output is linked to second input of multiplier. Input of power amplifier is connected to output of multiplier and output of power amplifier is connected to acoustic projector. Outputs of second filter, units setting invariant velocity and time intervals, synchronizer and of unit of satellite navigation system of GPS type are connected to inputs of computer. Input of indicator is connected to output of computer. Tested object carries first acoustic receiver, amplifier and filter connected in series, threshold unit, modulator, multiplier, power amplifier and acoustic projector. Output of second signal generator is connected to first output of second power amplifier. EFFECT: increased precision of process and device. 2 cl, 3 dwg
