FIELD: decontamination of sewage originated, predominantly, at coal carbonization plants. SUBSTANCE: decontamination is achieved by treating sewage with reactant, the latter is constituted by combined process effluents coming from coal carbonization operations and preliminarily subjected to two-step biochemical purification treatment. Effluents have the following composition, mg/l: phenol, 2.8-7.1; rhodanides, 25; their pH value is 8.2-8.5. EFFECT: effective decontamination of sewage. 1 tbl
