FIELD: treatment and utilization of sewage. SUBSTANCE: biochemical nitrification unit in the circulating water supply system of coke and byproduct process is disposed directly before an open cooling circuit of closed heat exchange apparatuses while the biochemical denitrification unit, after the cooling circuit of said apparatuses. A pipe connecting the biochemical nitrification unit with the cooling circuit of the closed heat exchange apparatuses and the pipe connecting said cooling circuit of said closed heat exchange apparatuses with the biochemical denitrification unit are interconnected by an additional pipe. Blow water of the cooling circuit of the closed heat exchange apparatuses flows from the denitrification unit into the utilization unit made in the form of a quenching tower and/or apparatuses for utilizing this water in metallurgical production or at municipal water treatment purification works. EFFECT: reduced corrosion rate of carbon steel in heat exchange apparatuses and diminished harmful blowouts into atmosphere and water reservoirs. 1 dwg
